Designed as a collaboration with the Suurbraak Furniture Cooperative, these chairs came from a shared interest in using the ancient hand-technique of ‘bodging’ to produce furniture (bodging dates back to the 13th century). Situated in the small village of Suurbraak, outside Swellendam, they have been producing hand-made chairs using this technique for nearly 30 years. The inspiration for the forms came from the elegance of the Gio Ponti ‘Superleggera’ chair, while making sure to not lose the unmistakable ‘handmade’ quality of the bodging technique.

Made from Eucalyptus Saligna, with glued joints and polyester webbing. Available in a wide range of colours and either as a low or high back version.
Dimensions: 450 x 450 x 900mm each
